Valeranga FC

As one of the most active delivery partners in the Diversity Wins project, Vålerenga Fotball played a key role in promoting diversity, inclusion, and anti-discrimination in both school and grassroots football settings. Building on the project’s Scan–Plan–Do methodology, Vålerenga engaged a dedicated team of staff and volunteers to deliver impactful educational sessions, local action plans, and community outreach initiatives.

Through tailored workshops in schools and football clubs, the organisation educated children and young people on issues such as racism, prejudice, and equal opportunities, using football as a relatable and engaging tool. Vålerenga also collaborated with local stakeholders to strengthen inclusion policies and practices within the club and its community.

Over the course of the project, Vålerenga reached hundreds of pupils, grassroots players, and coaches, ensuring the project’s messages were embedded at multiple levels. Their commitment and consistency—despite challenges in the wider consortium—demonstrated the club’s capacity to act as a community leader in driving positive social change through sport.
