Show Racism the Red Card Netherlands

Show Racism the Red Card Netherlands (SRtRC NL) is a leading anti-discrimination organisation dedicated to challenging racism and promoting inclusion through the power of education and sport. Building on the international legacy of the “Show Racism the Red Card” campaign, SRtRC NL works with schools, football clubs, and community organisations to empower young people and adults to stand up against prejudice, intolerance, and hate.

With a strong track record in combining education, football, and social change, SRtRC NL develops interactive learning programmes that help children and young people better understand racism, discrimination, stereotypes, and unconscious bias. Role in the Diversity Wins Project

As the coordinator of the Diversity Wins project, SRtRC NL carried the overall responsibility for management, implementation, and delivery of results. This included:

• Strategic Coordination – Leading the multinational consortium of football clubs, foundations, and NGOs, ensuring all partners were aligned with the project’s objectives.
• Educational Leadership – Contributing to the design of the Diversity Wins Toolkit, student workbook, and teacher’s guide, embedding best practices in anti-discrimination education.
• Monitoring and Evaluation – Overseeing the project’s performance and ensuring that progress was measured and reported transparently to the European Union.
• Communication and Dissemination – Managing the Diversity Wins website, social media channels, and external communication in cooperation with partners, to amplify impact across Europe.
• Direct Delivery – Stepping in to conduct school and grassroots sessions in the Netherlands, particularly when other partners withdrew, thereby safeguarding the project’s overall reach.

Impact

Under SRtRC NL’s coordination, the project:

• Produced resources and best practice guides that will continue to support schools and clubs beyond the project’s lifetime.
• Reached thousands of young people across Europe through school and club-based workshops.
• Trained hundreds of teachers, coaches, and community leaders, equipping them with tools to discuss complex topics such as racism, gender equality, LGBTQ+ inclusion, disability awareness, and religious tolerance.
