Real Betis Foundation
The Real Betis Balompié Foundation stands out as a vibrant force for social change, rooted within the celebrated Andalusian football club based in Seville. Through diverse projects—such as environmental campaigns, inclusive sports initiatives, and cultural outreach—the Foundation consistently advances educational, social, and sustainability goals aligned with the values of Beticismo.
In the 2023–24 season alone, the Foundation directly and indirectly touched the lives of over 45,000 individuals through 63 flagship initiatives, collaborations with 43 partner entities, and support extended to 252 organisations across 61 countries. Among its most impactful efforts are the creation of a sensory room at the Estadio Benito Villamarín, the launch of football teams for amputees and visually impaired individuals, and the “Grada Solidaria” initiative—offering stadium access to socially disadvantaged groups.
Recently, the Foundation has also pioneered environmental stewardship through the initiative “La Afición más Verde”, which promotes recycling during matchdays with dedicated collection points and volunteer efforts, recycling over 260 kilograms of waste in just two games.
Real Betis Foundation’s Role in the Diversity Wins Project
Within the Diversity Wins project, the Real Betis Balompié Foundation was one of the most active delivery partners, consistently implementing educational and inclusion-focused activities throughout the project’s duration. The Foundation delivered school-based workshops to hundreds of pupils, engaged grassroots football players, and trained coaches and educators on diversity, anti-discrimination, and inclusive practices.
They also contributed to cross-border learning, hosting the only in-person international partner meeting in Seville, which brought together clubs from across Europe to exchange good practices and strengthen collaboration. In addition, the Foundation supported the creation and adaptation of educational materials into Spanish, ensuring that the programme content was relevant and accessible for local schools and communities.
Despite wider consortium challenges, Real Betis Foundation’s commitment ensured that the project’s messages reached a wide local audience, reinforcing the club’s long-standing role as a driver of social cohesion and community engagement through football.
