Rangers Charity Foundation Publishes 2025 Diversity Programme Report
May 2, 2025
The Rangers Charity Foundation has published its 2025 Diversity Programme Report, highlighting another successful year of activities dedicated to promoting inclusion and tackling discrimination in schools and grassroots football. As part of the European Union-funded Diversity Wins project, the Foundation significantly expanded its reach across Glasgow and surrounding communities.
Reaching More Young People Than Ever
During the 2024/25 school year, the Foundation delivered educational workshops to more than 800 pupils from Primary 6 and 7 classes across Glasgow. Using the Diversity Wins workbook and interactive activities, pupils explored important issues including racism, respect, identity, and equality. The sessions encouraged children to reflect on their own attitudes, challenge stereotypes, and act as positive role models in their schools and clubs.
In addition to schools, the Foundation also engaged local grassroots football teams, creating safe spaces where young players could discuss discrimination and learn how to stand up for themselves and others both on and off the pitch.
A Trusted Partner in Education
The programme’s success was supported by strong partnerships, including Glasgow City Council’s Towards Better Futures initiative, which enabled wider access to schools across the city. Teachers and coaches praised the workshops for being practical, engaging, and tailored to the realities young people face today.
Strengthening the European Dimension
As one of the key delivery partners, the Rangers Charity Foundation not only ensured local impact but also safeguarded the overall success of Diversity Wins in Europe. After several original partners withdrew, Rangers stepped up to deliver additional sessions, helping the consortium meet its objectives and demonstrating leadership in the fight against discrimination.
Looking Ahead
The 2025 report underlines the Foundation’s ongoing commitment to diversity and inclusion, ensuring that young people across Scotland continue to benefit from education through football.
“At Rangers, we believe football can be a powerful force for equality,” said a Foundation spokesperson. “Through Diversity Wins, we are giving young people the tools and confidence to challenge prejudice and create a more respectful future.”
