About

Diversity Wins is a Europe-wide initiative dedicated to promoting inclusion, celebrating diversity, and challenging all forms of discrimination in and through sport. Funded by the European Union, the project uses the universal appeal and influence of football to inspire positive change in schools, grassroots clubs, and local communities.

Our mission is clear: to educate, engage, and empower young people aged 10–16, as well as the teachers, coaches, and community leaders who guide them. Through an interactive educational programme, we address issues such as racism, LGBTQ+ inclusion, gender equality, religious tolerance, and disability awareness.

Working with a network of professional football clubs, foundations, and expert organisations across Europe, Diversity Wins delivers:

  • School and Club Workshops – Interactive sessions using a dedicated student workbook and teacher’s guide, tailored to local contexts and languages.
  • Training for Educators and Coaches – Equipping them with the skills, confidence, and tools to tackle sensitive topics and lead impactful conversations.
  • Awareness Campaigns – Including Show Racism the Red Card and We Play With Pride weeks, reaching fans and communities through stadium activations, social media, and events.
  • Resources and Best Practice Guides – Providing practical materials, research, and case studies for use far beyond the project’s lifespan.
  • Podcasts and Storytelling – Sharing voices, experiences, and ideas from across Europe to inspire action and understanding.

By combining education, sport, and community engagement, Diversity Wins empowers young people to challenge prejudice, build mutual respect, and create safer, more inclusive environments — on and off the pitch.
